Our Work
Sahelian has created year-round programming that brings Punjabi women together through culture, education, wellness, and social connection. From recurring workshops to larger community gatherings, our events provide welcoming spaces for women to learn, stay active, build friendships, and remain connected to their community.
SAHELIAN MELA
In August 2025, Sahelian partnered with Mom’s Connection Group to host the Sahelian Mela, bringing women and families together for an evening rooted in Punjabi culture and community. The gathering created an opportunity for different generations to celebrate, socialize, and enjoy a shared cultural experience.
CREATIVE & CULTURAL WORKSHOPS
Sahelian regularly creates hands-on experiences, including Paint Night with Ravina Toor, an art workshop with Manjot Kaur, a poetry workshop with Varinder Kaur, Vaisakhi programming, and Giddha. These programs use creativity and Punjabi culture as a way to bring women together and build lasting connections.
WELLNESS & EDUCATION
Our programming also supports the physical, social, and emotional well-being of Punjabi women. Past sessions have included yoga and movement with Jasleen, brain health and dementia education, Circle of Security, and other educational workshops designed to make useful information more accessible in a familiar community setting.
COMMUNITY EXPERIENCES
Sahelian has also participated in experiences beyond its regular programming, including a screening of Time, the Breaking the Silence 5K Walk & Run, Mother’s Day programming, and other community initiatives. Together, these experiences reflect Sahelian’s commitment to keeping Punjabi women active, involved, and connected.
